Friday's Hunt with Eden Hills - 07/30/2016

Eden Hills

Oh my, it is Friday again...amazing how quickly that day comes around... AND it is time again for Friday's Hunt with Eden Hills.  This week the prompts are: Starts with E, Bouncy, and Weeks Favorite.

Since as I mentioned before, I am trying for this round of letters to get them all from our trip to California. This week was easy! On our way home we stopped in EUNICE, LA to see my Aunt. And of course I had to take pictures.... Below the first set are pictures that were taken around the EUNICE Depot Museum.

It was Sunday and nothing was open...sigh...but we got some pictures anyway.

For BOUNCY I really had nothing....so I made  asked my son to help me. He is jumping or bouncing in the living room with a box of BOUNCE in his hands....

And for my favorite of the week....I am a Clive Cussler fan!!!! And I had collected so many of his books that I had to clear off another shelf to hold all of them. Some of the titles I have more than one and that is because each one has a different cover.

So there you have it....so glad you could drop by...and next Friday is just around the corner so don't forget to come back and see what I posted.

For more great post head over to Eden Hills and take a look...Til next week...

Keep on Snapping...

Friday’s Hunt With Eden Hills - 07/22/16

Eden Hills

Well it is Friday again, time for Friday's Hunt with Eden Hills. Seems like the days are flying by. Before we know it the year will be over....

Anyway, this weeks prompts are Starts with D, Weeks Favorite, and Summer or Winter.

For starts with D, I am continuing to try and find pictures from our vacation trip to California in June. My hope is to get all the letters...

DUNES - White Sands Missile Range - NM

Not sure where this was taken, but the DOG was in the back of the truck in the shade watching the horses. I thought it was funny.

DOLPHINS - at a rest stop in Alabama

Water Tower in DEPORT Tx

DOWNTOWN coming into Pensacola, FL

My favorite for the week is a picture of my daughter and SIL on their wedding day in Jan. We just recently got the professional pictures.

AND since I live in Florida, and it is Summer here, well it's summer most of the year, I have a collage of some of the flowers in my yard that are growing.

For more great shots, hop over to Teresa's at Eden Hills and see what she and the rest of us posted.

And as always, til next time...keep on snapping!

Pine Ridge Treasures' Sunny Day Blog Hop July 23rd, 2016

Time for the Sunny Day Blog Hop with Lisa Lodge at A Grateful Artist. For this challenge she sent out a bead kit with cultured seaglass and czech glass in shades of blue, yellow and green.  Blue for the sky, yellow for the sun and green for the grass and leaves.  Participants were instructed to make beady creations using their kit beads, and other items in their bead stash (if they so chose). This is what I received.

There were so many possibilities, it was hard to choose. Since I had not worked with Peanut Seed Beads or Farfelle Beads I went looking for patterns to get ideas. The one I chose for an idea was the Jolie Band from Around The Beading Table. I didn't have the beads required, but I like the way it looked so this is what I created.

It is a bracelet with matching earrings. The Blue glass and the green bubble looking beads were from the kit, the black half moon beads and the opaque green beads are from my stash. This really wasn't a pattern for peanut beads, but I like the way it came out. Almost looks like green bubbles between the blue glass beads.

From there I was really drawn to  the blue circles and the yellow squares. This is what I designed with them. The little green sea glass beads hanging on the yellow are from the kit also. The goldtone squares on top of the yellow were from my stash and in fact are part of toggle sets. I just really liked the way they looked.

For my final project where I used most of the rest of the beads and some from my stash I created after seeing a necklace similar in style. I made it so that it can slip over the head and also put a lobster claw finding on one side in case you wanted to undo it. I put two fish charms over the lobster claw so you really can't see it.

Each separate component on the first two rows were strung on wire and connected by a 3 link section of tiny chain. The yellow, light green, orange in the first two rows are from the kit. The rest from my stash. The crystal glass beads and the blue glass beads on the third and fourth row are from the kit. They were joined with just jump rings. Here is where the fish charms are. And if you look closely, the four loop connector I used to hang all the strands on is the other part of the toggle set that I used in the earrings I showed earlier.

Here is the pair of earrings I made to go with the necklace.  In it you can see the clear crystal beads from the kit better. The yellow glass beads and the circular yellow sea glass beads were from my stash.

So there you have it. I still have more beads and more idea's.  For more great ideas and designs go check out Lisa's Blog

Til next time...keep on beading!

Friday's Hunt 07/16/2016 with Eden Hills

Eden Hills

It's hard to believe that another week has passed since our last look at Friday's Hunt with Eden Hills. This week Teresa has tasked us with the letter C, weeks favorite, and unique perspective.

For me the letter C this weeks stands for CALIFORNIA. That is where we went on vacation in June to see my daughter and SIL. The pictures are random from California. The one of the Coffee Shop is where we ate the morning we left. As you can see, it is named CLAYTONS! And the bottom one is a sign we passed where you could get off to go to Caliexico, Mexico. It was interesting to be that close to another country.

For Unique Perspective, I used two pictures I took of my son, Nicholas, on top of a rock that we passed as we were on I-8, leaving California. The first one is without a zoom, the second one is with the zoom. The perspective is how close I got to him and didn't move!

Then my favorite for the week, is my dog, Penelope. She is getting on in years and she was sitting at my feet while I was working and I noticed how GRAY she was getting. She doesn't like having her picture taken though.

For more great shots and stories, hop over to Eden Hills and check out the links to the other participants. And until next week....

Keep on snapping!!!

Friday's Hunt 07/08/16 With Eden Hills

Friday's Hunt  With Eden Hills

Well it is Friday again, and time for Friday's Hunt with Teresa from Eden Hills. This week we have: Starts with B, weeks fav, and patriotic.

For my Start with B pictures, I give you the BEACH! This the Coronado Beach in Coronado, CA. So now I can say I have had my feet in the Atlantic, the Gulf ( I live in FL) and now the Pacific!!!

My favorite for this week is me being silly as we were coming back from our vacation in CA. We stopped at the first rest stop after crossing the FL line and it had all kind of statues out side, this one just looked like it was begging for me to put my head in it!

And for Patriotic, I chose the picture I took of the flower arrangement I made for our church for July 3rd.

So there you have it, my offerings for this weeks Friday Hunt.  For more check out Teresa webpage at Eden Hills.

Til next time....keep snapping!

Friday's Hunt with Eden Hills

Eden Hills

Hello all. Again it is time for Friday's Hunt with Teresa from Eden Hills.

This week we are starting again with the letter A. which is great as we just returned from vacation driving from Florida to California and back. Our son was snapping pictures as I was driving and when we were in Arizona, there was a HUGE A on the side of the mountain:

Since we have been resting this week after two weeks of driving, I chose as my week's favorite a picture of my son while we were in Orlando for his college graduation. We were at the Downtown Library and these crocs were outside in a little park.

For my macro - we did stop in California in the mountains around 4000 feet above sea level, and take some pictures. This one is of some really neat lichen on one of the rocks.

So here is my offering for this weeks Friday's Hunt. Hopefully I will be able to be faithful and stay with it every week. Til next Friday.

Keep on Snapping!
